General
What does Dominion Strategic Holdings do?
Dominion Strategic Holdings LLC is a financial research, analysis, modeling and consulting firm based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It builds the models, valuations and written analysis that businesses, funds and individuals rely on when a decision carries real money, and hands over the work product for you to keep.
Who does Dominion work with?
Two practices. The institutional practice serves operating companies, funds, family offices, founders and deal teams. The private practice serves individuals and households who want their finances run with the same rigor.
What types of engagements do you take?
One-off projects, such as a financial model, an analysis, a valuation, research or transaction support, each quoted at a fixed fee. Retained hour blocks and monthly retainers for companies with ongoing needs. Personal CFO memberships and coaching programs for individuals.
Do you work with individuals as well as businesses?
Yes. The private practice offers Personal CFO reporting, with monthly statements, net worth tracking, debt payoff planning and retirement readiness projections, and one-on-one financial coaching on budgeting, saving, debt and money habits. Both are behavioral, educational and analytical, and neither includes investment, tax or legal advice.
Do you work with clients outside Puerto Rico?
Yes. Engagements are conducted from San Juan for clients throughout Puerto Rico, the mainland United States and abroad, in English or Spanish. Fees are quoted and payable in U.S. dollars.
Services
What is financial modeling?
A financial model is a working spreadsheet that projects a company’s income statement, balance sheet and cash flow from a set of assumptions you control. The models Dominion builds are linked and dynamic, including three-statement, DCF, LBO, M&A, real estate, startup, and budget and forecast models, with the assumptions visible and base, upside and downside cases built in.
When would I need a business valuation?
Usually when a number is about to be negotiated: an offer to buy the company, a partner buyout or exit, a fundraising round, or a decision about whether an asset is worth holding. Dominion values the business using the income, market and asset approaches, with written rationale and sensitivity tables, so you know your own floor before you negotiate.
These valuations are for analytical, strategic planning and internal decision-making purposes. Formal certified valuations for legal, tax or regulatory purposes require a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) or Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) designation.
Can Dominion help evaluate an acquisition?
Yes, as analytical support. That can include target screening, accretion and dilution analysis, synergy modeling, buy-side financial diligence with a quality of earnings assessment, and an investment diligence report. It is financial analysis and modeling support, not deal brokerage, regulated financial advisory or securities placement.
What does fractional CFO support include?
A monthly retainer covering monthly profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow, budget-versus-actual variance reporting, a monthly strategy call and email support between calls. The Full Service retainer adds a three-scenario financial model updated monthly, a custom KPI dashboard, investor-ready financial packages and capital structure advisory.
Can Dominion build a custom financial analysis?
Yes. The schedule includes a custom or complex model, whether multi-entity, fund-level or bespoke, built to your specifications, and ad hoc financial analysis scoped to the question you need answered. Both are scoped and quoted on inquiry.
Engagements
How does the process work?
Five steps. An introductory call to establish the decision the work needs to support. A written proposal with a fixed fee, a fixed scope and a delivery date. A signed engagement letter and a deposit. Delivery of the working file and written commentary, with one full round of revisions included. A walkthrough call so you can operate the model yourself, and a standing line for questions afterward.
How long does an engagement take?
It depends on the work. Typical turnarounds on the schedule run from two to three days for a pre-investment screen to ten to fifteen days for buy-side financial diligence; a three-statement model typically takes five to seven days. The delivery date is fixed in your written proposal, and rush delivery is available for a surcharge, subject to current workload.
How much does an engagement cost?
Fees are not published, because they depend on the complexity of the entity, the condition of your records and the turnaround you need. Every engagement is quoted individually in a written proposal with a fixed fee, a fixed scope and a delivery date, prepared at no charge and with no obligation.
Do you offer fixed-fee engagements?
Yes. Project work is quoted at a fixed fee for a fixed scope, agreed in writing before work begins, and nothing is billed before you accept. Companies with ongoing needs can instead buy retained hour blocks or a monthly retainer, and hourly work is available for anything that does not fit a package.
What do I receive at the end of an engagement?
The live working file, with formulas intact and the assumptions on a dashboard you control, together with written commentary on what the numbers say, base, upside and downside scenarios, one included round of revisions and a walkthrough call.
Can I use the financial model after the engagement?
Yes. You receive the live file, not a locked PDF, so you can change the assumptions, rerun the scenarios and take it to your accountant, your lender or your buyer. The walkthrough call is there so you can operate the model yourself. Use of delivered work product is governed by your engagement letter.
Can Dominion work with my existing CPA, attorney, CFO, or other advisor?
Yes. The work is built to be handed on: you can take the working file to your accountant, your lender or your buyer, and the private practice includes CPA liaison with a clean document hand-off. Tax and legal advice stay with your CPA and your attorney, because Dominion does not provide either.
Can I request an NDA?
Yes. All client information is held in strict confidence, and a mutual NDA is available on request. Mention it on the introductory call or in your enquiry.
