Financial Modeling Services
A financial model is a working spreadsheet that projects a company's future income statement, balance sheet and cash flow from a set of assumptions you control. Dominion Strategic Holdings builds models that lenders, investors and boards can audit line by line — and hands you the live file, not a locked PDF.
What a properly built model actually does
Most spreadsheets that owners bring us are a revenue line, a cost line and a hopeful growth percentage. That is not a model — it is an estimate with formatting. A real model links the three financial statements so that every assumption flows through all of them: change the collection period and you see it hit cash, working capital and the revolver draw at once.
That linkage is what a credit officer or an investor is testing when they open your file. If the balance sheet does not balance, or the cash flow statement is hard-coded rather than derived, the conversation is over before it starts.
What you receive
- The live working file with every formula intact and assumptions on a dashboard you control
- Linked income statement, balance sheet and cash flow that tie out
- Base, upside and downside scenarios with the sensitive variables isolated
- Written commentary in plain English explaining what the numbers say and where the risk sits
- One full round of revisions, included
- A walkthrough call so you can operate and defend the model yourself
Which model do you need?
Three-statement model — the foundation. Use it for budgeting, lender packages and any conversation about the business as a whole.
DCF — when you need an intrinsic value: a buyout offer, a partner exit, a decision about whether an asset is worth holding.
LBO — when debt is doing the work. Returns analysis, debt schedules and a sponsor waterfall.
M&A / merger model — accretion and dilution on a proposed structure, with synergies modeled separately so they can be stress-tested.
Startup model — unit economics, burn and runway, built to survive a due-diligence read.
Real estate model — cash flows, debt service, equity waterfall and IRR.

Frequently asked questions
- How long does a financial model take to build?
- Between 3 and 12 days for most engagements. A three-statement model typically runs 5 to 7 days; a DCF 4 to 6; a full M&A or LBO model 7 to 12. The biggest variable is the condition of your existing records, not the model itself.
- Do I get the Excel file or just a report?
- You get the live working file with formulas intact. You can change assumptions, rerun scenarios and take it to your accountant or lender. That is the whole point — the model is an asset you keep, not a report you rent.
- What do you need from me to start?
- Historical financial statements, ideally three years, plus whatever operational detail drives revenue. If your records are incomplete we will tell you before quoting rather than discovering it halfway through.
- How much does a financial model cost?
- Fees are quoted per engagement, because they depend on entity complexity, the state of your records and the turnaround you need. Inquire and you will receive a written proposal with a fixed fee and a delivery date, at no charge.
- Can the model be delivered in Spanish?
- Yes. Every engagement is delivered in English or Spanish, including the written commentary, the labels in the file and the walkthrough call.
